Ash Breeze is an up and coming band from. Fayetteville,North Carolina. A little about our history. In 2013 we were signed by Mark Hodges at Mountain Fever Label. We were also blessed to perform on PBS's nationally syndicated Song of the Mountains in February at the Historic Lincoln Theatre in Marion Va., Bluegrass and Barbeque at Silver Dollar City in Branson MO and Dollywood in TN, South Carolina, Houstonfest in Galax VA, and Bluegrass Festivals in Vermont, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island Canada, as well as other great venues. In 2014 we performed in Branson and Dollywood again and were also selected as one of 10 Youth Showcase bands out of 49 applicants Internationally at the International Bluegrass Music Association Convention in Raleigh, NC. At IBMA we were also asked to perform as part of Bluegrass Ramble at The Merlefest Stage.
2015 finds us back in Fayetteville,NC after living for years running a grassfed beef cattle ranch in the country on the Deep River in Moore County, NC. It was there that we left our pursuit of classical music and moved into bluegrass and other roots influenced music Our music has been influenced by many things; classical training at younger ages, the move into bluegrass, and influences from folk, blues, Americana, etc.. Our Faith is also important to us and an influence on who we are and our music.
2015 also finds us heading back into the studio. We are still with Mark Hodges of Mountain Fever Records, but are recording on his new label, Travianna Records. This is because of the many influences on our music, which includes Bluegrass but seeks to go beyond it. We will continue to perform Bluegrass Festivals, and perform our music that is most appropriate for those venues, but also really are a roots band that does not seek to define ourselves under one label, but just write, create, and perform music that we love and create our own sound. We appreciate the musical legacy we have been given and wish to make our own contribution to it. Look for our new Cd later in 2015.
Our single release, Without Love, was selected as a top five finalist in 2014 in The Great American Songwriting Contest. (Christian/Gospel Category) and was one of only 3 finalist in the Gospel category of The Christ Austin Song Contest at Merlefest in 2014. (over 600 entries overall)
